Blue Knight Rubber Stamps: Creating Cards with a Few of My Favorite BKRS Stamps

Hello again!

Each of us on the Blue Knight Rubber Stamps Design Team have dedicated our December projects to sharing cards with you that they've created with a few of their favorite BK stamps.

I started the week off, here at my blog last Sunday, with sharing a few cards created with 2 of my Blue Knight favorite stamps...and today I'm ending the week with a few more cards created with 2 more of my BK faves!

First up...Peaceful Lake with an added image from Momma Bear and Friends.

I stamped the Peaceful lake image first, then added the smaller Momma Bear image to the scene.
I added color to most of the image with PanPastels and Copics (boat and lower tree line).
I created the cloudy sky with Blue Knight's Heidi Pettie Cloud Stencil and PanPastels.
When colored image was sealed with Nexxus Comb Thru hairspray.
Yes!...This is a great way to seal you PanPastel colored images **As long as you don't need or want them to be archival safe.**
For me...Nexxus is a great sealant for card projects.
I actually like it better than art store types of sealants.

This card makes me smile...I truly LOVE this stamp...It's no wonder that it made it to one the top spots on my Blue Knight list of favorite stamps

My second card...created with another of my Blue Knight favorites: Silhouette Stag.
I Love Love Love this stamp...emphasis on LOVE
(Apologies for the poor lighting on the second photo...I was having lighting issues in the studio when I took today's photos.)

This is a super quick and easy card to create.
Some repetitive stamping of the silhouette image to get a good solid black image.
Some masking with a basic circle shape to create the moon...and some PanPastel coloring to create the evening sky.
I added some great shading to the moon as well.
And wha-la...a card!

I'll be using this stamp to make some boxed sets of cards to gift to a few people who are outdoors men...and will, I know, love this image as much as I do.

Well, that winds up my last Design Team projects for the year!
You can find each of today's stamps HERE , at the Blue knight Rubber Stamps web store.

Blue Knights new DT term begins in January and I'll be continuing on as Design Team Coordinator and with the pleasure of working with a team that consists of a few familiar DT members who will continue to inspire you as they always have......and a new DT member who will be wowing you with her amazing card making!

Be sure to check in at the Blue Knight Blog HERE...and the Facebook Fan Page HERE...so that you won't miss out on the upcoming NEW RELEASE and all that the "new" DT has to share!

Blue Knight Rubber Stamps December Design Team Inspiration Cards: SAILBOATS and DANCING in the RAIN

Hello friends!

Today I'm sharing my Blue Knight Design Team inspiration cards with you here at my blog.
This month, the DT has been given the opportunity to create cards with their personal BK favorites.

My list of BK favorites is very lengthy.....so it wasn't so easy to choose favorites for my December DT projects....
BUT...I managed to whittle my December favorites down to 4 stamp sets...and am sharing 2 of the cards/stamp sets, here with you today!
(I'll share 2 more on Saturday...so be sure to check in here, at my blog, again at the end of the week!)

DANCING in the RAIN

As soon as I laid eyes on this stamp I knew that I'd enjoy coloring it...creating stormy cloudy background...but I also knew that I wanted to crate a paper pieced card with this wonderful stamp.
I love everything about this stamped image...and I especially love the detailed reflection in the puddle!

For this card I paper pieced the umbrella, jacket and boots with a Swiss dot print paper.
I added the color to the rest of the image with Blue Knight Select PanPastels and Copic markers. I created the stormy sky with PanPastels and Blue Knight's Heidi Pettie Cloud Stencil.

My second card today was created with another BK favorite....SAILBOATS.
I have created cards countess time with this stamp set and love that the set includes 2 identical images/stamps: A large SAILBOAT and a smaller SAILBOAT. I always reach for this stamp set when I need a masculine card that comes together quickly.

For today's card I chose to create a card with the smaller SAILBOAT image.
I added color to the image with Blue Knight PanPastels...added some matting...a little bit of natural fiber red twine .....and had a this completed card in about 15 minutes.
*Coloring images with PanPastels is a CINCH!

I hope that you enjoyed seeing toady's cards...created with two (of many) of my Blue Knight Rubber Stamps favorites...

I'll be back on Saturday with 2 more cards...created with 2 more of my BKRS favorites!

You can see more December Inspiration projects from my Blue Knight Design Team teammates over at the BKRS... HERE

And..you'll find today's stamps and the BLUE KNIGHT PanPastel Palettes over at the Blue Knight web store.... HERE

Thanks for visiting today!
See you on Saturday!

My Daughter and I: A Card Collaboration for a Friend.

It's been a long time since I've spent time in my studio making a card of any sort.

Recently, a friend asked me to make a card for her.
Her daughter is getting married..and she asked me to create a card that she cold give to her daughter and soon to be son-in-law on their wedding day.

I knew, immediately, which stamp sets I wanted to use to create the card and had a vision in my crafty little head about which colors...supplies...and card stock/paper I wanted to us.... and what I wanted the finished card to look like
I also knew that I wanted to "recruit" my daughter, Chelsea ...who does beautiful hand lettering....to personalize the card and envelope.
(I SO wish that I had Chelsea's talent and gifts for doing beautiful lettering....she does it without effort.)

About the supplies....I chose the following to create today's card:
Stamp sets: Altenew's Vintage Roses layered stamp and die set
The Ton's Haute Wedding Dress and Plus One stamp sets
Papertrey Ink's VINTAGE CREAM card stock for the card base and stamping layer.
Green Metallic card stock (chosen because this is one of the wedding theme colors)
Sheer Vellum

My daughter added the hand lettered personalization and sentiment with an old fashioned fountain pen and ink.

I prepared the 5 x 7 card....cut the card stock...and scored it to create the base card.
Next, I cut the green metallic mat layer, stamping layer and the velum layer.

I set those pieces aside.

I stamped the layered Vintage Rose pieces in multiples and die cute each floral image and the leaves and set them aside.

Next, I stamped the bride...and groom...
I did some masking of the bride image to position both images as I wanted them...getting the groom close enough to the bride so that it would look like they are holding hands behind her gown. (Masking the bride eliminated the grooms right hand which created the illusion of hand holding.)

After I completed the stamping...I handed the stamped piece over to my daughter who added her beautiful hand lettering to personalize the image piece and add the sentiment.

I them positioned the flowers on the vellum layer, making sure not to hide any of the personalization and sentiment.

Finally, I assembled the card using Scor-Tape on the metallic and card stock pieces and  foam dimensionals to position the flowers and leaves.

I took a few photos and sent them to my friend...the Mother-of-the-bride...who was very happy with the card!

Yay!
(Her happiness made me happy!)

Thanks for stopping by today...
Wishing you a wonderfully creative day!

Blue Knight October DT Challenge: Creating a Card with Elements from Multiple Stamp Sets

Hello my crafty and creative friends!

I'm sharing my final October Blue Knight Rubber Stamps DT Mix n Match October Challenge card with you today!

I LOVED creating this card with stamped elements from BK's SILHOUETTE FOREST, GALLOPING HORSES and BIRDS II stamp sets.

Here's a quick synopsis of how I created today's card:

I got out 3 of my stamp positioning tool...(MISTI...Tim Holtz, etc)
I took time to position each stamp, in each tool,  in the place that it needed it to be stamped to create this scene .
I positioned the SILHOUETTE FOREST in one tool....
The GALLOPING HORSES in another
and the GRASS from GALLOPING HORSES in another
I Positioned the bird in the MINI MISTI
I used 4 stamp positioning tools in all.

I did the first stamping of each element....moving my card stock form one tool to the other.
First the Forest....Then the Horses...Next, the grass...and finally the bird.
I left all of the stamps in their place, inside of each tool.

Then it was time to add color to this image.
I used BLUE KNIGHT's PanPastel PALETTES for the sunset sky, the mountain and the grassy area.
I did lots of (fun) blending for the sky, using Pan colors from BK's SUNRISE & SUNSET PanPastel PALETTE.

After the image was colored, I returned the piece to each of the stamp positioning tools to re-stamp the silhouette images a few more times...until I had nice dense spot-free silhouette images.
For stamping, I used Gina K's (Black) Amalgam Ink..I find that this ink is great for silhouette stamping.

After the image was stamped, I sprayed the piece lightly with NEXXUS COMB THRU Hairspray to seal the PanPastel coloring.
(If you want archival safe sealing, you'll need to use an archival safe spray that's compatible with PanPastel coloring.)

Next, I matted the image piece with matte black card stock.
I positioned the matted image piece with foam, for added dimension on a larger mat layer of gold metallic card stock.

Simple...easy...and fun to create!

You can find each of the stamps that I used to create today's card HERE, at the Blue Knight web store.

Blue Knight Rubber Stamps DT Challenge: Creating a Card with Multiple Stamp Sets

Hello Friends...
I've been enjoying creating my Blue Knight Rubber Stamps Mix n Match Design Team Projects this month!
It's been great being challenged to combined stamped elements from multiple stamp sets to create each of the months cards.

Today, I'm sharing a card that I created with the following stamp sets: FIVE PINES, MOMMA BEAR and FRIENDS and BIRDS II.
I love the beauty and simplicity of the FIVE PINES stamp set...and thought that with 2 small additions from the MOMMA BEAR and FRIENDS and BIRDS II stamp sets,  I could create a peaceful Autumn scene.

I chose to stamp the FIVE PINES image with brown Archival ink and colored the image with Blue Knight Select PanPastels.
I used Gina K Amalgam ink (black) to stamp the deer and geese.
I double matted the image layer with black matte card stock. The large mat layer is gold metallic card stock. I used foam to position the matted image piece, for added dimension.

This card came together in a flash!
This is where I say...Don't be afraid of coloring....PanPastels make it a cinch to create cards with  gorgeous coloring!
Blending the colors that you see on this card was so much fun!

You'll find each of the stamp sets used to create today's card over at the Blue Knight web store HERE

Blue Knight Rubber Stamps October Design Team Challenge: Mix n Match Stamping

Hello my crafty and creative friends!

Today I'm sharing my second Blue Knight Rubber Stamps Design Team challenge card of the month!
I loved creating today's card with stamped elements from 4 Blue Knight stamp sets and the HEIDI PETTIE CLOUD STENCIL.

COUNTRY HOME (main image with cottage, tree on left and grassy path)
TREE with STEAM (tree on the right)
COWGIRL and COWBOY (dog)
and BIRDS 2 (bird trio)
The image elements that I chose from each stamp set came together nicely to create this wonderful scene.

How I created this multi-stamp-set scene:
I started out by stamping the COUNTRY HOME image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth card stock.
Next, I added one of the trees from the TREE with STEAM stamp set by using a brown marker to color the tree section that  wanted to use, from the large stamp. Using stamping compatible marker  allowed me to add ink only to the tree that I wanted to use, as opposed to inking up the entire image with an ink pad.
Once the tree was stamped, I added the silhouette dog image from the COWGIRL and COWBOY stamp set.
After these elements were stamped, I colored the image using Copics on the house and tree on the left. I also used Copics to highlight the grass details and shrubbery.
I used Blue Knight PanPastel Palettes to add color to the ground/grass.
I used markers to add Autumn colored foliage to each of the trees and sketched in a little bit of grassy detail around the bottom of the tree on the right.

Then it was time to create the cloudy sky.
I used the HEIDI PETTIE CLOUD STENCIL and an assortment of PanPastels  to create the multi colored clouds/sky.
Finally, I added the trio of birds with one of the bird stamps from the BIRDS 2 stamp set.

For matting I chose gold metallic card stock for the largest mat layer and metallic bronze for matting the image piece.
I used foam to position the matted image piece for added dimension.
Gold and bronze metallic card stock seemed perfect for this colored image and pulled together the Autumn look that I was going for, very nicely, I think.

I thoroughly enjoyed planning this card ...thinking about which elements I wanted to use from which sets.
It was fun to watch the different elements come together to create this beautiful scene.

You'll find each of the 4 stamp sets used to create today's cards, along with the Heidi Pettie Cloud Stencil and Blue Knight's PanPastel Palettes HERE, at the Blue Knight Rubber Stamps web store.

Blue Knight Stamps Design Team Challenge: Mix n Match Stamping

Hello my crafty and creative friends!

This month, here at my blog, I'll be sharing my weekly Blue Knight Rubber Stamps Design Team cards with you.
All of us, on the team, are participating in a month long challenge that has us mixing and matching elements from multiple stamp sets to create our October cards.

Today, I'm sharing a card that I created by combining stamped elements from 3 different Blue Knight Rubber Stamps stamp sets:
FOR THOSE WHO SERVED (the silhouette image)
OLD GLORY (the American flag)
and...THANK YOU HERO (the sentiment/quote)

I started out by stamping the Old Glory image with a light brown Archival ink.

Next, I used Gina K Black Amalgam ink to stamp the silhouette image. Using a stamp platform is helpful when stamping silhouette images because is allows for exact and identical placement of the stamped image for repetitive stamping.
I like Gina K Amalgam ink for silhouette stamping because with just a few repeat stampings...it creates a nice solid spot-free silhouette image.

After the stamping was complete, I colored the image with Copic markers.

I chose a sentiment for the card and matted it with black card stock

I chose red card stock to mat the image piece and black card stock for the largest mat layer.

I used foam to position the matted image piece as well as the sentiment piece

Using 3 different stamp sets allowed me to meet the Design Team challenge and reminded me that combining elements from different stamp sets can be lots of fun...expand your card making options...and your creativity!

You can find each of the stamp sets that I used to create today's card HERE, at the Blue Knight Rubber Stamps web store.

Creating a Card with Blue Knight Rubber Stamps New Release Family is Everything Stamp Set

Hello my Crafty and Creative friends!

Today I am sharing the final card for Blue Knight Rubber Stamps month-long September New Release Design Team Inspiration projects!

And...this is my final reminder about the Giveaway that's happening HERE, at the Fans of Blue Knight Rubber Stamps Facebook group.

After you read about today's card...be sure to head over to the Fan Group to enter the SORROWFUL PUP Giveaway!

Now...it's time to share today's card...created with Blue Knight's  new release FAMILY IS EVERYTHING stamp set!

This stamp set is so sweet....and a cinch to color and create a card with.
(Yes...this week I'm sharing two super speedy cards with you!...Today's card...and Wednesday's MOUNTAIN SCENE card that I shared a few days ago here at my blog.)

I started out by stamping the FAMILY is EVERYTHING image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, using my stamp positioning tool. I left the stamp in position in the too, because I knew that I would be re-stamping again after adding color to the image.
Next, I added color to the background and tree with an assortment of PanPastel Colors.
I added a tiny dot of white gel pen to the raccoon's eyes.
Then, I re-stamped the image a few more times to get a solid image (paying attention, especially, to the dark tree hollow area behind the raccoons.
I used  stitched edge rectangle die to die cut the image.
I chose a  black matte color card stock and a white washed wood grain card stock from LCI PAPER for matting.
The sentiment  is from the FAMILY is EVERYTHING stamp set and it was stamped directly onto the wood grain card stock.
This required a few stampings because of the wood grain texture.
The image piece was positioned with foam for added dimension.

And guess what?

The card was complete!

Look at this adorable little faces peeking out of that tree hollow!

I hope that you've enjoyed each of this months New release inspiration projects!

A Beautiful Blue Knight Rubber Stamps New Release Card in a Flash

Hello again!

I'm really excited to share today's card with you!

My card making belief is that lovey cards don't need to be a laborious task!
We've all created cards that require lots of time....lots of creative lingering...for one reason or another.
And we don't really mind tat...as long as the end result is what we envisioned and had hoped for.

But, I have to say...it's wonderful when a card comes together in a flash...and compromises nothing with regard to how lovely it is.
The key with this happening though...lies in the stamp used!
Not every stamp allows for some speedy card making with the end result being a beautiful card.

Today's new release MOUNTAIN SCENE stamp is one of those stamps!

BUT...before I tell you about how I created today's super speedy card I need to remind you about the Blue Knight September new Release Giveaway that's happening over at the Facebook Fan Group (HERE)

After you check out today's card here at my blog, don't forget to head over to the Fan Group to enter the SORROWFUL PUP Giveaway!

Now, let's take a look at today's MOUNTAIN SCENE card and some info about how fast this card came together!

I started out by stamping the image into Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth card stock
I added color to the sky and stream by blending some BLUE KNIGHT SELECT PanPastel colors.
I added some shadowing to the rims of the mountains with a light blue PanPastel color.
I use some color with PanPastels to the rocks along the stream
Next, I sealed the image by spraying it lightly with NEXXUS Comb Thru Hairspray.
After the image was sealed, I added some shimmery highlights to the image with Liquid Pixie Dust
I chose black matting for the image and a frosty blue metallic card stock for the larger mat layer.
I positioned the matted image piece with foam for added dimension.

And that's it!
Fun!
Super easy!
Super speedy!
And super pretty!

This is an ideal image for creating multiples...(ie Holiday cards)
In just an hour,  you'll be able to create a nice sized stack of this lovey card!

Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly: Creating a Heat Embossed Copic Colored CAS Card

Hello my crafty and creative friends!

I've got another card created with a Blue Knight Rubber Stamps September new release stamp to share with you!

But first...a reminder about the New release GIVEAWAY!

After you've read all about today's card, head over the the FANS OF BLUE KNIGHT RUBBER STAMPS Facebook group  (HERE) to enter the SORROWFUL PUP Giveaway!

Now..on to today's card!
If you follow my blog...you already know that I'm a very CAS card maker..and that I often heat emboss images before adding color.

Today's September new release TIGER SWALLOWTAIL BUTTERFLY card is very "me"!
It was created with heat embossing and it's very CAS!

Here's some info about how this card came together:

I stamped this big gorgeous image onto Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth card stock...
ran my anti static tool over the entire piece of card stock.
I used a stamp positioning too to stamp the image a few times with Versamark Ink to make sure that ink was transferred for all of the little details in the images.
I used Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder to heat emboss the image.

Next, I did a Google search for "Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly" to see what the authentic colors of this butterfly might be.
I chose Copic marker colors that represented the colors shown in multiple photos and colored the image.
For matting, I chose a teal-like color matte card stock and metallic gold LCI card stock.
I positioned the matted image piece with foam for added dimension.

Here's a photo that shows the heat embossing and coloring details nicely...

This gorgeous large, card front sized image was wonderful to create with!
I learned something about swallowtail colors with my Google search and was happy with how the very light colors and touches of blue and orange looked with the gold heat embossing when the card was complete.

You'll find the TIGER SWALLOWTAIL BUTTERFLY stamp and all of the September new release stamp sets HERE, at the BLUE KNIGHT RUBBER STAMPS web store.

For a little shimmer...I added a little bit of Liquid Pixie Dust to the dandelion and the tiny dandelion pieces floating in the air.

I chose green matte card stock and a light yellow mini dotted print paper for matting.

The sentiment piece was stamped...lightly inked...matted and positioned with foam for added dimension.

Isn't this little guy a cutie!?

A Momma Bear and Friends Card: Blue Knight Rubber Stamps September New Release

Hello Friends!

Today I've got colorful card to share with you...Created with Blue Knight Rubber Stamps September new release stamp set: MOMMA BEAR and FRIENDS!

But, before I share details about today's card...I want to remind you about the GIVEAWAY that's happening over at the FANS of BLUE KNIGHT RUBBER STAMPS Facebook Group, HERE

After you've read all about today's card...head over to the fan Group to enter the giveaway.
You and a friend just might be the winners of the adorable new release SORROWFUL PUP stamp set

And now...I've got a little bit to share about today's MOMMA BEAR and FRIENDS card!

I love that this stamp set has an assortment of images in both a large and small size....because sometimes, I like to create background prints/paper with stamped images.
And...I thought that the smaller Momma Bear image wold be perfect for creating a background print.
I also knew that I wanted to use a bright colorful palette for this card.

I started by creating the stamped background with the smaller Momma Bear image and a few bright ink colors...
Next...I stamped the larger image on Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth card stock using my stamp positioning tool...and  Gina K (Black) Amalgam Ink...my fave ink for silhouette stamping.
After stamping the image twice, I left the stamp in it's position inside of the positioning tool because I would be coming back to stamp the image again after the card front piece was created.

Next...I used BLUE KNIGHT SELECT PanPastels to add color to the image piece.
I used the PanPastel colorless blender to smoothly blend the lines between the different colors.
I place the image piece back into the stamp positioning tool and stamped...re-inked...stamped---re-inked a few times until the silhouette image was a deep sod black color...without any spotting.
(NOTE: The Amalgam Ink requires a few minutes of drying time.)
When working with PanPastels you'll need to seal the image....
So...After the ink had dried, I sealed the image by spraying it lightly with NEXXUS COMB THRU hair spray.
(Yes...NEXXUS hair spray!)

I matted both the image piece and the background print piece with black cards stock.
I positioned the image piece with foam for added dimension.
And wha-la!
The card was complete!

Yes!
This is an easy and speedy card to create!

I'm already thinking about how I'll be using the other stamps in this new release stamp set...specifically with some of Blue Knights scene stamps!

You'll find the MOMMA BEAR and FRIENDS stamp set and the Blue Knight PanPastel Palettes HERE, at the Blue Knight web store.

Ranch Fence: Creating a Card with a Blue Knight Rubber Stamps September New Release Stamp

Hello again!

I've got another Blue Knight Rubber Stamps September New release stamp and card to share with you today!

I'm a huge fan of Blue Knight Rubber Stamps scene stamps and so this stamp is right up my alley!
I love the details in this scene...The fence....cowboy boots and hat..the bucket hanging on the fence..the wood grain on the fence...the sparse leafy shrub ...sprigs of grass and the hills in the background.
I thought...Water color?...Copics?...Water color?...Copics?
Then...I decided to add color to this image with Copic markers.

I wanted a pop of color...so I opted to make the boots and hat red...
To highlight the fantastic wood grain on the fence... I did some Copic blending with a few different brown Copics and a little bit of grey.
I used sand, grey and brown tones for the hills...greens for the grassy areas and greys and browns for the stones
I went with metal-like colors of grey for the bucket.
I added some Autumn colors to the leafy sprigs.
To finish the the image I added a cloudy sky with the Heidi Pettie Cloud Stencil and a touch of yellow for a sunset
For matting I chose LCI PAPER metallic card stock in a deep red and bronze....colors that complement color that I added to the image.

Fun! Fun! Fun!
It was lots of fun coloring this image and watching it come to life!

You'll find the RANCH FENCE stamp and the HEIDI PETTIE CLOUD STENCIL... HERE, at the Blue Knight Rubber Stamps web store.
The LCI PAPER Metallic card stock is HERE
