If I had my way...
I would spend 97% of my card making time
in the garden...
Water coloring beautiful floral images...
and detailed scenes of serene and lovely places rooted in nature's landscape.
But...
Today...
I've ventured out of the garden...
and have found my way into the pasture....
and have decided to enjoy this sweet image
of "mother and child"...
a stamp single named "Horses"
from Our Daily Bread
This was the first time I inked up this stamp.
Like many other stamps that I have for ODB..
This image has some shadowing and detail highlights built into the stamped image...
which works well for me when coloring (alcohol markers) or painting (water coloring )
I colored/painted this image with Spectrum AquaBlend markers...
applying the markers to an acrylic block...
and picking it up with a paintbrush.
(My fave way to water color)
So what do you think of this playful filly...
and beautiful broodmare?
and here's a close-up...
I love that the bronze metallic card stock on the largest mat
picks up the color of the filly..
as well as the mane and tail on the broodmare...
(That was unplanned , may I add...when I water colored this image...
but when I took out some metallics for possible matting options...
the bronze screamed..."pick me!!...pick me!!...so I did!)
and yes..this is where I say what I always say
whenever I mention LCI's Metallic Card Stock....
"I wish that the metallic card stock shimmer showed up better in the photos"
(I should do some kind of contest, here at my blog, to see how many times I say that metallic card stock thing... during one month of blogging!)
I'm glad that I stepped out of the stamped-image-garden...
(my card making happy place)
and ventured out into the pasture...
This was an enjoyable image to work with...
Thanks for visiting ...
