A First....My First Project as a Member of the Crafter's Companion International Inspiration Design Team!

Hello my friends!
I'm so happy and excited to share my latest crafty news with you here at my blog!

I've been invited to join the Crafter's Companion International Inspiration Design Team!

If you know me...
you already know that I love sharing my love of card making and paper crafting here at my blog...
as well as in my home, community and personal life....
and of course ...in lots fun and crafty places on Facebook!
This Design Team opportunity thrills me..
and I am looking forward to sharing lots of creativity and projects with you during the next 6 months.
All of projects will be shared here at my blog...
along with some video tutorials, now and then...on my YouTube Channel.

I hope that you'll share these next 6 months with me, here...
so that you can enjoy seeing lots of wonderful Crafter's Companion products in action!

And now...it's time for me to share my first project with you!

I am a lover of water coloring...
and knew that I wanted to create a water colored card for my first project.

I've been working with lots of florals lately..and thought that I;d switch it up a bit...
and create a card with a non floral-only image.

Barkley's "Special Friend" stamp seems perfect!

So I got out my supplies...and got started!
(I'll share a detailed supply list at the end of the blog post)
But just to give you a general idea....
I've got...Shimmering Card Stock...Shimmering cards
Watercolour Card Stock..
AquaBlend pencils....the Barkley stamp...
paint brushes...and a water receptacle

I stamped the image onto water color card stock...
and...colored the image...
applying the pencil colors direct to the dry card stock...
(no misting needed when using the pencils)
I worked on the flowers first....
then the hammock....
then Barkley and his friend...and finally the butterfly...
blending with my wet paint brushes as I went along...
The AquaBlend Pencils are very magical
As soon as you touch your wet paintbrush to the color things start to happen!
The colors come alive!

I really enjoyed working with this image...
and loved coloring ..shading...and blending the hammock...
(mixing colors...layering colors...and creating new colors ...and blending
are what I love most about water coloring...)

After all of the coloring was done...and blended with my wet paint brush...
I let the image dry...
(which wasn't long at all being that the card stock wasn't misted...and therefore,  it wasn't very wet)

Then...
I jazzed it up a bit
by adding a touch of the Crystal Clear Glitter Brush Pen to each flower...
and also to the butterfly
The Sky Blue pencil was perfect for....
you guessed it...
the sky!
I deliberately applied the color here and there..so created a cloudy-like look...
as opposed to having a solid blue sky...

I chose to double mat the image and then adhered all 3 layers to the base card
(Note: the green layer is attached with low profile foam dimensionals)
and..
wha'la!
The finished card!

The shimmer on the base card...and on mat layers is so pretty...so soft...
and the mat layer colors are a perfect complement to the assortment of colors in this image.

I'm glad that I chose this stamp to create my first Inspiration Design Team project.
I got to enjoy what I love most...
water coloring!
and...
in the end...
I created a sweet card that I will enjoy sending to someone special.

Thanks for visiting...
I hope that you'll visit often to see what I whip up in my studio.....
and I'll especially hope that you stop by on Wednesdays...
to see all of my upcoming Crafter's Companion projects!

Have a great day my friends...
Michelle.
