I'm on water coloring kick.
(I create cards in kicks..in case you haven't noticed)
My favorite images to water color are flowers...
so...my current kick includes...water coloring....
and flowers.
Today I'm sharing 4 orchid cards that are similar...but different.
Same image ...
("Orchids"....by Sheena Douglass...for Crafter's Companion)
Different color palettes...
Different sentiments.
Al of the images were heat embossed
some in gold...
some in white.
The sentiments and quotes are from various companies...
Penny Black...Papermakeup...Honeybee...CTMH
Each of he first 3 images were water colored with an assortment of Altenew Crisp Ink Pads.
Altenew Ink pads are almost always my go-to ink pads when I'm water coloring with ink.
The colors are so beautiful...vibrant...and they interact nicely with water.
This sentiment is by Honey Bee stamps.
Each of the matted water colored images...on all 4 cards...
were positioned with a large piece of fun foam...
for a nice sturdy lift and added dimension.
White embossing is always nice...and works well with lots of colors.
A favorite quote stamp...from a favorite stamp company that is no longer in business.
(I miss Paper Makeup Stamps)
I also heat embossed in gold..
for this card...I used a pretty embossing folder to add texture to the purple metallic card stock.
I love the sentiment's scripty brush stroke style font
("Brushed Blossom" by Concord and 9th)
and the Altnew purple ink colors worked beautifully on this card...
For this gold heat embossed card....I chose a pretty sentiment by CTMH
(I've had this stamp set for MANY years....sorry I forgot to check the name of the set)
This time...I didn't use ink to"paint"...
Instead...I opted to use water color pencils (Spectrum Noir Aquablend)
Now, I should tell you how and why I chose this Orchid stamp to create some cards with
The truth is...it was in a pile of stamps that I pulled aside to sell..
when go doing a little stamp de-stashing.
It was on my studio desk for about a month
I looked at it almost everyday during the last few weeks...
and then... the other day I decided to ink it up...
and created the 4 cards that I've shared here today.
And now??...Guess what??
It's no longer in the "sell/de-stash" pile.
I'm keeping this lovely stamp set!
Thanks for visiting today, my crafty and creative friends.
I hope that you stop by tomorrow
to see where my paint brush takes me next!
Have a wonderful Friday!
Michelle.
