Today I'm sharing 4 sweet cards....
They're similar...but different.
All were created with the main image from Sheena Douglass' Busy Doing Nothing stamp set.
I fell in love with this stamp set as soon as I saw it on line...ages ago.
So when it was time to choose the stamp sets for my new stack of colored images...
Busy Doing Nothing was at the top of the list!
Each of the 4 cards that I am sharing today were colored with Copic
and/or Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.
Background color was added with Clarity Brushes and ink pads.
The cards are very CAS...and I think that the images stand alone very well...
no need for embellishments etc.
I created one in pink...and one in purple....
one in yellow...and one in blue
one in yellow...and one in blue
Here's the purple version.
Isn't she adorable?
I added a piece of embossed vellum under the matted image layer...
and chose deep purple metallic card stock for matting.
The second version is pink.
Then, I matted it and positioned it across the center of the card front
before adhering the matted image layer
.
I chose deep raspberry red card stock for matting...
and some gorgeous Anna Griffin print paper.
For paper layering I hand-cut a wide banner..and matted it.and some gorgeous Anna Griffin print paper.

.
and ...
because I rarely create cards that are primarily yellow....
I thought that I'd use yellow for the 3rd card...
Green metallic card stock was used for both mats.
And yes!....I used my favorite "print"...
Small Swiss dots.
and ...
last but not least...
Blue.
When I was a little girl, I had a dress just like this one...in this shade of blue...
which was my Grandma's favorite color
And just like the dress in image on this card...
My blue dress had a wide waist sash that tied into a big beautiful bow...in the back.
I love how all of the shades of blue in the dress....the matting...and the pretty print...
all come together.

This sweet stamped image was fun to color...and create a few cards with...
and it's a stamp that I know I will use many times in the future.

ReplyDeleteThanks so much Sheila!
ReplyDeleteThis makes me smile and makes my heart happy. It reminds me of my little girl. I have been searching for this stamp since I saw your cards. No luck! I find it on overstock, but it is out of stock. Any idea where I might find it? Thank!

DeleteI got my stamp (Busy Doing Nothing...by Sheen Douglass) at the Crafter's Companion web site quite a while ago...
I just checked there for you...and they aren't showing it...
