Okay...
Here's the short version of this story:
I got a large "Thank You" background stamp.
Stampin Up's A World of Thanks
I thought that I kinda knew what I wanted to do with it.
As it turns out..
I was mistaken.
Because I stamped it once with ink.
Blah.
Didn't like it.
Tossed it into the trash
I stamped it again.
Heat embossed it with gold embossing powder.
Blah
Didn't like it.
Tossed it into the trash
I stamped it again..
Heat embossed it with white embossing powder.
Blah.
I wasn't liking it.
I set it aside.
And
for months...
I never gave it another thought.
Last night I found it in a pile of stamped images..some colored...some not.
I was getting ready to toss it into the trash...
and then..
I had a light-bulb-over-the-head-moment!!!
And this is what happened!!!
The light bulb??
Something simple...
no big secret or revelation...
I just used my Clarity Stencil Brushes and some pretty ink pads to add color to the background...
The embossing acted as the resist...
(the ink did not cover the embossed words)
I was SO happy with the end result...
So much so, that now I am thinking of all of the possibilities
that might exist with some great large background stamps that I have.
About the card:
I chose to keep the card simple...
I wanted the beautiful colors and the words to be the focal points.
(No embellishment distractions.)
There's enough said on the front of the card...
so...I left the inside blank.
I am SO happy that I didn't throw this embossed piece into the trash months ago!
I have another piece that I embossed...also months ago...
and never used...
*I am thinking that I need to put the Clarity brushes to work...again...
I'll be back tomorrow to share the outcome.
Thanks for visiting...
Have a wonderful and creative day!
Michelle.
I love how it turned out.
