Happy Birthday: Stamping... Inking and Die Cutting

I wanted to see how my new Gmund No Bleach Card Stock

might work with (dauber) inking.

I also have a great Reverse Confetti die that I haven't used in a while..

So I thought that I'd put the 2  together...with a few other card making goodies

to create a card that I had in mind.

These are the main supplies that I used to create this card:

Gmund No Bleach 111b Card Stock

LCI Stardream Metallic card stock: FAIRWAY

Reverse Confetti Cover Panel Die: BIG STRIPES

An assortment of Distress OXIDE Ink Colors

Hero Arts Stamp & Cut sets: HAPPY and BUTTERFLY PAIR

Nuvo Jewel Drops: PERIWINKLE

And this is what I came up with...

 I stamped and inked the roses after I die cut the cover panel

because I wanted better control as to where the roses and leaves were placed.

Inking was a cinch...and fast...

and the Gmund Card Stock took the stamping and inking nicely.

The Kraft-like color of this card stock offers great background color for the look that I wanted.

for some reason..this shot doesn't...which is strange..considering that I took the photo in the same location...with the same lighting etc...)

Anyway...

for the sentiment pieces and matting..

I die cut "Happy" twice.

Once with the Gmund No Bleach card stock 

and once with LCIs FAIRWAY Stardream Metallic card stock.

I used the Fairway Green as the mat layer.

I inked the other "Happy" with 2 OXIDE colors for a 2 color ombre look

I stamped out the "Birthday"...cut it to size...inked it up..and positioned it with foam dimensionals.

The butterfly was stamped..inked..and then I applied Nuvo Jewel drops to cover the entire butterfly.

When it dried..it had a nice glass-like look...which is what I wanted.

I chose a green text print for the under layer...to pull all of the colors together.

I've been sticking to my promise (to myself)

to REALLY use all of my "stuff"...

both old and new...

as opposed to just focusing on the "new" all of the time.

It's been fun going through my studio...and pulling out things that I have had...

and adding them to something new...

to create a card that I've had in mind.

This card was one of those cards...

A little bit "old"...and a little bit "new"...
