Coloring...Old School

There are so many awesome coloring techniques and tools in the card making world now...

I think that during the decades of time that I have been creating cards...

I may have tried all of them.

(and I have oodles and oodles of tools and supplies to prove it!)

But...

somehow...

I always come back to my beloved water coloring..

I will never stop being awed and amazed by the magical things that happened when ink/color

and water come together.

I'm sure this isn't news to you...
because, if you visit my blog often, you've seen lots of water colored cards
and already know that I  really really really love water coloring.

Today, though...

I am going old school.

Back to basics.

and...

I'm coloring a card straight up...

with markers...

no fancy techniques...

no tools to apply the color...

Just an image...

and some Stampin Up markers

The image is Fran's TEA CUP TRIO

After I colored the image...I scanned it into the Scan N Cut2...

and let the machine cut it out perfectly for me.

The lacy doily is from Crafter's Companion...

The pretty print is DCWV.

The mat layers were created with LCI card stock.

The pink layer was embossed with an embossing folder

(*Please don't ask me the name of the folder....because....I don't know the name!)

The image was placed onto the card front with low profile dimensionals.

This card is
exactly what I love...

Crisp...

Clean...

and 

Simple.

That's my kind of card!

and..

as I mentioned...
it was done old school...

with a few simple markers.

(oh...and a little bit of Wink of Stella on the 3 visible rose blooms)

Now it's time for you to go old school...

get out your set of markers...

keep it simple...

and enjoy creating a card that reminds you that not every card has to be a big whoop-dee-coo..
and a big production.

Sometimes...

less IS more..

as the saying goes.
