If not, you can visit yesterday's blog post and see 3 wonderful cards, and share a comment for your Daily Giveaway entry!
But first, let me show you a few cards that I whipped up with Catherine Scanlon's New Release Geranium stamp.
I was excited to see this stamp for the first time because it took me back to my childhood and the beautiful geraniums that my grandma used to have on the fire-escape outside of her kitchen window.
This Geranium stamp shouted WATER COLOR to me...
And I listened.
But then, it also shouted COPICS to me
And...I listened again.
Which means that I created 2 cards with this wonderful stamp.
One heat embossed and water colored
And..one Copic colored.
First up...the Copic colored version.
After the bloom and leaves were colored, I cut the image piece to the size that I wanted for the card front and inked the edges with green ink, using a Ken Oliver Stencil brush. I made sure o not bring the ink too close to the image because I wanted to create the effect of light behind the geranium.
The matting layers are black and a deep pink.
The second card is the heat embossed & water colored version of this wonderful Geranium stamp
To create this cards....First, I went through my stash of water colored backgrounds...and chose one that I wanted to use (Yes...I create water colored background pieces and try to always keep a hefty sized stash on hand for those times when I want to create a card with a water colored a stamped image).
After I chose the background piece, I stamped the image with Versamark and then heat embossed it with fine detail gold embossing powder.
I love purple geraniums, so I chose an assortment or purple Distress Ink pads to paint the floral art of the image and an assortment of green Distress ink pads to paint the leaves. I used yellow tones for the centers of the petals.
I chose the sentiment from Catherine Scanlon's Words of Wisdom stamp set and stamped it with green ink
I am especially fond of her floral designs, and so creating a few cards with this big beautiful Geranium stamp made my crafty little heart happy.
I hope that seeing one stamp used two different ways ...with two different end results has inspired you.
