A Trio of Flowers

Sometimes...
I just feel like coloring with markers.....or water coloring.
Those are the days when I go through my stamps...
and pull out a few that catch my eye.

A few weeks ago..
I was in the studio...
and just felt like doing some coloring with my Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers.
I had a new-to-me stamp set...
(Penny Black's Efflorescence)
and it looked like  set that I'd enjoy coloring with markers...
as opposed to water coloring.

I stamped out a few each of 2 of the 2 stamps that I chose...
I decided to color the flower trio first...
(I'll share the other colored images and cards here in a day or two)

When all of the stamped images of the flowers were colored
I let the Scan N Cut do what it does best....
that being...
Cutting out the images.
(and...with perfection, may I add!)

I dug out a Spellbinders die that I have had forever and a day...
but kinda had  forgotten all about...
and..a favorite banner die from The Stamps of Life
and this is what I came up with....

This particular  trio seemed more suited for card stock that is a coral tone..
(the flowers on this version are more coral-like...whereas the other flowers are more orange-y)
So...coral it was..
I look at this photo now and think....
I should have put Prills in the center of each flower..
Prills would be perfect I think...plus, they'd bring some added texture to this card...
which would be a good thing, I think.
(I think that I am going to add Prills when I am in the studio later today)
Note: The Prill-less flower trio is popped up on low profile dimensionals.
Anyway....
here's the coral card...

The crisp look of this card is very much....me...
My love of CAS cards is undying......
Clean...and Simple...
that's a good thing.
Crisp, clean and simple?
That's even better!
(I love that little edge of white around the image that the Scan N Cut can do..)

The  orange-like flowers seems destined to be surrounded by a bright green...
So...I chose this terrific LCI green card stock for the lattice frame
Again...
Crisp...clean....and simple
(Yay!...All is right in my little hard making world!)

and,...
an up-close and personal shot...
By the way...
the banner did not come with a shadow die...
so...
I stamped the sentiment on white card stock...
and then die cut the already-stamped banner
I created my own by die cutting  a second banner (green)....
cutting it in half horizontally
and then positioning and adhering  each half to  the back of the first banner (white)
You can see the result nicely in the photo below

So there you have it...
The same stamped image...
each colored a bit differently
and paired with two different lattice frames.

Next time, I'll share another very CAS card...
created with the second image that I chose to work with...
from the same penny Black stamp set
(Efflorescence)

Have a great day, my friends...

  3. Lovely cards. They are so nice! I like how they are so clean and not cluttered with a bunch of stuff.
