Foot Bridge: Creating a Card with Another Blue Knight Rubber Stamps May 2020 New Release Stamp

Hello my crafty and creative friends!

I am a waterfront lover...
I love the ocean...the shore...lakes...streams...ponds...rivers...
There's a certain serenity and connection to nature that happens to me when I am near the water...so it makes sense that I felt immediately connected to Blue Knight's May New Release Wetlands stamp...as well as the stamp that I am sharing with you today.

Foot Bridge reminds me of the Atlantic Ocean beach, an ocean inlet and connected creek from my island hometown...a place where we used to go crabbing...and clamming...under hot summer sunshine surrounded by salty sea air....and seagulls calling out to one another....and geese and ducks swimming in the saltwater creeks and canals.
Growing up on a small Island...and living on an Island now ...memories of life on and near the ocean are abundant for me.

All of this made me enjoy creating today's card...a lot!

This scene, I think...was plucked right out of my 30 years of life lived on my Island hometown.
It was fun to color...and it was fun to add some stamped details/additions to....and when complete...it turned out exactly as I had hoped it would.

I colored the image with Copic markers...and used PanPastels when creating the cloudy sky with Blue Knight's Heidi Pettie Cloud Stencil.

This stamp set comes with an assortment of silhouette images that can be added to the larger beautifully detailed main scene....
Included are: a sailboat in 2 sizes....and a gathering of ducks...in two sizes.

For today's cards...I chose to add the larger sailboat...and larger duck image

After the stamping and coloring were complete, I chose card stock colors for matting.
For the larger mat layer I went with blue...and for the smaller mat layer I chose matte black card stock.
I positioned the matted image piece with fun foam for added dimension.

If you love scene images...and love to color...but shy away from tedious coloring....THIS is the image for you...
This image is a breeze to color...
Pencil coloring...PanPastels and Copics are all great ways to add color to this image.

Happy Hedgehog: Card Making with Another Blue Knight May 2020 New Release Stamp

Hello my crafty and creative Friends!

I'm super edited to share another Blue Knight Rubber Stamps May 2020 New Release stamp and card with you today!

HAPPY HEDGEHOG is beyond cute...and I think that I am smitten with this adorable little guy!
(I'll share a link for the stamp at the end of the blog post)

The May New release is a great collection of 12 awesome stamps...
Some scenes...some silhouettes...a Beau-tea-ful tea cup and book image...a little bit of Winter...some beachy images...and this Hedgehog cutie

I used Copic markers to add color to the HAPPY HEDGEHOG image.
I chose some bright shades of pink to color the flower...to add a nice pop of vibrant color to this image and added lots of green shading to the grassy area...large leaf and clover.
I added a light pink to this cuties cheek...for a slight hint of him blushing.
Next, I matted the image with black card stock and a pink card stock layer that matched the flower color.
For the sentiment, I hand cut a banner after stamping out the sentiment.
Originally wanted to mat the sentiment banner with the same pink card stock that I used for the largest matting layer ....but the matting would have overlapped and hidden too much of the hedgehog image...(and I wasn't having THAT happen!)
So instead, I edged the sentiment piece with a pink marker for added definition.
That slight touch of pink was perfect for adding edge definition to the sentiment piece and best of all...the sentiment didn't cover up the image (like it would have with the added width of a mat layer)

By the way...I really love this sweet sentiment.
Thank you Mark Twain!

I had lots of fun coloring his image.
So...I created another...
I colored the image with PanPastels....this time with a flower color switch and I added a cloudy sky with the sun popping out above the clouds
color switch...and a different sky...

As always, I hope that today's stamp set and card have inspired you to find some time to create a card of your own today!

Creating a Beautiful Scene Card with Blue Knight's New Release Wetlands Stamp

Hello my crafty and creative friends!

I've been spending time in my studio...enjoying creating cards with the Blue Knight Rubber Stamps  May New Release Stamps!

This new release collection has 12 amazingly wonderful stamps that made it difficult for me to choose which I wanted to work with first.

Last week I chose to create a card with the RAINY DAYS stamp...and this week...I decided to get my crafty little hands on the WETLANDS stamp...
I was feeling excited about coloring this image...and was secretly wishing that I could be sitting by that body of water..looking off into the distance at the mountain.

I added color to the image with an assortment of Copic markers and PAnPastels...focusing on doing lots of shading to the water, mountains and grassy areas.
I added some color to highlight the tall trees...as well as the distant trees on the shoreline.
For the sky, I did a base layer of color to the entire sky area with a very light blue Copic color.
Next, I added the clouds ...using Blue Knight's Heidi Pettie Cloud Stencil and PanPastels.
When the clouds were complete...I use a small sponge-tipped applicator to gently blend the cloud edges a bit so that they wouldn't be so defined and crisp.
Finally, I lightly misted the entire piece with my secret sealant-weapon...NEXXUS Comb Thru Hairspray to seal the PanPastels

I chose two mat layer colors...
A metallics card stock in a green that coordinated nicely with the grassy areas of the image...and matte black card stock for the matting layer that would be positioned directly beneath the image

I LOVE this image...and already have ideas for adding some silhouette images from the MOMMA BEAR and FRIENDS stamp set to create alternate scenes.

I'm thinking that the mini bear trio would look perfect on this card...and the buck and deer would also be a nice addition to this card.

I hope that this card has inspired you to find some time to create a card of your own today!

Rainy Days...Blue Knight Rubber Stamps May 2020 New Release

Hello Friends!

I'm back!

It's been a long time since I've shared a card here at my blog...

As Design Team Coordinator, I spend lots of time doing DT things behind the scene......so I'm always happy to join the Design Team to share some weekly card making inspiration with you, here at my blog....
And today, I'm extra excited to share a card that I've created with RAINY DAYS...a Blue Knight Rubber Stamps May 2020 New Release stamp.
(Link for stamp info will be posted that the end of this blog post)

I chose to add color to this beautifully detailed image with a combination of PanPastels and Copic markers.

I started out by stamping the image onto Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I added Panpastel coloring to the landscape ...grassy areas...the path...and the sky.
I used Blue Knight Heidi Pettie Cloud Stencil to create easy fool-proof clouds.also with PanPastels.
I added some grey to the traditional blue could colors...to give a bit of a stormy look to the sky...
Finally, I used Copics to add color to the woman's coat and umbrella.

For matting, I chose taupe and deep red to coordinate the double matting with the image color palette.
I positioned the red-matted image piece with fun foam for added dimension.

This stamp has lots of wonderful image details...the grassy areas...the trees and the path all have lots of details that work well with creating a quick and easy...and fast card...especially if you choose to color the image with PanPastels.

The Heidi Pettie Cloud Stencil is a must-have, I think...for anyone who enjoyed creating scene-like cards...with minimal effort..you can create beautiful billowy-cloudy skies in a flash with Panpastels...or by brushing ink over the stencil edge.
