A Very Happy "Accident"

I've got a very happy card making accident to share with you today.

The story is a simple one...
I wanted to color this gorgeous new Catherine Scanlon image with alcohol markers.
and...
I wanted some of the blooms to be a light coral color....and others to be yellow.

It all started out nicely...
The yellow blooms were looking good...
I wanted hints of coral/orange on the yellow blooms.....and was able to achieve that look...
and then..it was time to color the coral blooms...
(YIKES)
This is when it all went in a different direction...
and...it was NOT in a coral direction, may I add.

In spite of the fact that I've got oodles of alcohol markers..
and regardless of the fact that I am always excited to mix and blend colors...
Getting a coral color just wasn't happening.
Not at all
But I stuck with it...
blending colors...
optimistically...
trying.

Still....Nothing coral-like.

But....
The good news?
I loved how the colors turned out.
Coral schmoral...
who needs coral when I have this!
I get giddy with card making happiness whenever I create a card with a Catherine Scanlon stamp...
Look at this image!
Look at those blooms!
Look at those happy accident colors!!

Love Love Love.
Love this stamp design.
Background color was created with ink pads and Clarity Stencil brushes..
I added a few clear droplets as embellishments
The mat layers are a light green and red/bronze-like ..
both colors are shimmery metallic card stock.

I am so happy with how this card turned out...
The colors of the 2 blooms in the center (top and bottom) are, perhaps, more beautiful than the coral color that I was initially hoping to achieve.

As always....I am filled with joy when creating cards with Catherine Scanlon stamps...
I'd like to water color this image the next time I use it...
which will hopefully be...soon!

Oh!
I almost forgot...
Usually...whenever I share a card created with a Catherine Scanlon stamp...
I get lots of messages on FaceBook asking where the stamps can be found.
The good news is....they can be found right HERE
You'll find all of Catherine's stamps...including the recently released new designs... at Art Gone Wild

Have a great day my crafty and creative friends!
Michelle.
