The Boathouse....A Wonderful Image to Water Color

Hello my crafty friends...
I'm excited to care a beautiful stamped image with you today...
One that I was looking very forward to creating a card with...
because...
Any day that allows me to water color an image...
is an extra wonderful day, if you ask me!

"The Boat House"....
from the Crafter's Companion Sheena's A Little Bit Sketchy Stamp collection
is a dream come true for water coloring lovers (like me!)

The wonderful collection of colors in the Spectrum Noir AquaBlend Watercolor Pencil sets
allowed for lots of color blending and shading....
especially when coloring the trees and shrubbery and other garden landscape details in this image.

Look at all of the amazing sketch details in this image!
A water coloring lover my like myself
looks at this image and sees so many wonderful and fun opportunities to blend..
shade...
and to mix and layer colors..
I applied the color directly: pencil to dry water color card stock
and then used a wet paint brush to blend.
(I know that this photo will overlap onto side bar of this blog page...
but I wanted to max out the photo size...
so that you can see all of the amazing sketch detail...
and use of color.)

Here's a little bit of a close look at the image....
Details! Details!
Wonderful details!
All of them perfect for water coloring!
You can also see the perimeter shadowing really well in this photo...
...all around the upper/outer edges of the image...
along the edges of the trees..and the main house
I chose to shadow with blue...being that the image edge was against what would be the sky

The sail boat is a separate stamp in this set...
I colored it, blended...and then cut it out...
and used low profile foam for dimension...
and to attach it to the card front.

This was a wonderful...fun..enjoyable stamp set to work with...
the image is so beautifully detailed...
with lots of little places to accentuate them with color...
shading...and a mixture of colors.
The sailboat image is perfect for adding a dimensional element...
which really adds something special to this card.

My last thought about this stamp set?
Sheena knocks it out of the ballpark again...with another of her beautifully detailed Sketchy images!

Thanks for visiting!
I hope that this card and beautiful image inspires you to create something that's wonderful...
and....water colored...
Michelle
